Discover, Imagine and Create

Discover, Imagine and Create is an original summer program designed to meet the intellectual needs of creative children that will be entering Kindergarten in Fall 2026. This course will encourage the development of creative thinking skills through stimulating experiences incorporating language, reading, math and science concepts as well as drawing, painting and imaginative play.

History, animals, creative expression and the world of science and mathematics will come alive through our thematic approach.

In the Afternoon, Discover campers will do a Sport, an Art and a Music class.
We are looking forward to a great summer for our Discover campers at Iona University!

Morning Activities (9:00AM – Noon)

AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL

The history of our country, founding fathers, presidents and traditions.

AUTHOR STUDY – ERIC CARLE

Discover facts and the similarities in the stories and illustrations of a favorite engaging author and his creative and inspirational tales.

FIVE SENSES

Students will learn how we use our five senses to explore, investigate, and understand ourselves and our world.

ANIMAL EXPLORATION

Study the beauty and attributes of different kinds of animals around us.

AUTHOR STUDY – DR. SEUSS

Engage with the humorous stories of a favorite author as we make our own art to mimic his inclusive storytelling and bold illustrations!

SOLAR SYSTEM

Explore planets, stars, orbits, the sun and moon!
COMMUNITY HELPERS
Provide opportunities for children to learn about and embrace helpers we know: Police Officers, Fire Fighters, Nurses, Mail Carriers, Farmers and more!
Afternoon Activities (1:00PM – 4:00PM) In the Afternoon, Discover campers will do a Sport, an Art and a Music class.

AFTERNOON CHALLENGE

Session 1: Aqua Champs * – Model Magic Monsters – It’s a Small World

Session 2: Aqua Champs * – Dance a Story – This Land is Your Land

* Discover Campers can opt out of the Aqua Champs program and take a K level sports class at 1PM instead.
