Challenge Camp Counselor Application
Challenge Camp is always looking for bright, athletic and enthusiastic individuals to be summer Counselors. Counselors assist our instructors in our academic
enrichment classes, sports and swimming as well as participating in camp activities while interacting with all campers. In accordance with New York State law,
counselors must be at least 16 years of age prior to camp.

Challenge Camp Counselor in Training (CIT) Application
Counselor in Training is an exceptional opportunity for 9th & 10th grade students at least 15 years of age to learn and train to be a counselor in the Challenge Camp
environment.The course meets daily and will involve such topics as: camper socialization, assistant teaching and coaching, building self-esteem, conflict resolution
and more.Lunch is provided and the remainder of the day will be spent hands-on with our campers utilizing new skills. Session 1 CIT’s will receive full CPR and First Aid
certification as part of this curriculum. This course is continuous for 7 weeks and will allow you to grow as an individual with an emphasis on achievement, maturity and
responsibility.CIT candidates must be 15 years of age prior to the start of camp

Administration and Office Staff:
For organized, energetic applicants who enjoy a fast paced, fun, hands on environment and have experience in an administrative role.
Aquatics & Lifeguards:
For persons with Aquatics experience that are a currently certified as lifeguards or aquatics staff or if you have a desire to obtain lifeguard certification.
Counselor:
For bright, athletic, artistic, enthusiastic, patient and kind individuals who enjoy working with children. Counselors assist our instructors in our academic enrichment classes, sports and swimming as well as participating in camp activities while interacting with all campers.

Challenge Camp hires seasonal staff every summer for a variety of positions including Counselors, Classroom Instructors, Sports Staff, Aquatics Team (Lifeguards / WSI’s), and Administrators. There are salary ranges for all positions and factors that determine compensation include: position, experience level, certifications, roles and responsibilities, and amount of time worked.
- Counselors – full summer counselors starting from $1,400 – $1,750
- Classroom Instructors – ranging from $20 – $50 / hour
- Sports Staff / Instructors – ranging from $20 – $30 / hour
- Aquatics Team – ranging from $18 – $25 / hour
- Administration / Office Staff – ranging from $20 – $30 / hour
