Summer 2021 – Original

Challenge 2021 – Cohort Model

We are adopting a Cohort Model for Summer 2021. Campers will select 5 classes to follow throughout the camp day, the two morning classes are 90 minutes (9:00 and 10:30) and the three afternoon classes are 60 minutes (1:00, 2:00, 3:00). The students will follow their course selections for the entire session allowing their knowledge and interest to grow.

Our goal is to maintain the feel of Challenge Camp by offering electives within the cohorts for each period throughout the day. We are planning for there to be 3-5 elective choices for each period for your camper to choose from pending guidance on group sizes.

The two main cohorts tracks are Arts & Enrichment and STEM & Computer Science. Challenge Camp uses current grade as of September 2020 for class selections. The grade level bands within the cohorts are Explorers – Grades K & 1, Pioneers – Grades 2 & 3, Innovators – Grades 4 & 5, Trailblazers – Grades 6+. The program for students that will be entering Kindergarten in Fall 2021 is Discover, Imagine and Create.

The cohorts will also integrate Active class electives into their afternoon schedules as campers are encouraged to challenge theirs minds and bodies. Active options include: Basketball, Fencing, Field Sports, Hip Hop Dance, Ninja Warrior, Pickleball, Soccer, Tae Kwon Do, Ultimate Frisbee, and Yoga

Below is a list of classes that could be assigned to the cohorts groups and is designed to provide you with a representative sample of Challenge Camp classes. Here is a link to Sample Course Descriptions.
