Challenge Camps

Dear Friends,

I am delighted to continue our association with The Leffell School (formerly Schechter Westchester) in Hartsdale, providing a magnificent setting for the 40th summer of Challenge Camp! Summer presents an opportunity for exploration into topics about which your child may be curious. Our courses have been specially designed to meet the creative and intellectual needs of gifted and talented children, enabling them to go deeper into a current interest, try something new, or revisit themes from the past.

The Program

Challenge Camp is a unique program for bright, curious children. The Challenge Camp advantage is that you and your child customize a program of selections based on your child’s interests and the students follow their course selections for an entire session. As many of our courses are project based, you will see your child’s knowledge and interest grow throughout the session. Challenge Camp is located at The Leffell School, a picturesque campus with art rooms, a theater, science and computer labs, and state of the art classrooms. There is large gymnasium and playing fields for sports. The facility is fully air conditioned!

Morning Curriculum

In addition to our returning favorites in the arts, music and STEM disciplines, we are introducing many new morning workshops designed to stimulate the imagination of our campers. These selections include: Alien Sculpture Studio, Crafting with a Purpose, Go Kart Maker, Highly Logical, LEGO Spike Prime, Op Art, Podcast Kidz, Rock the Vote, YouTube Content Creator and our theater productions “Wizard of Oz” and “A Maleficent Sleeping Beauty”.

Afternoon Challenge

The Afternoon Challenge features our outstanding sports program including the continuation of our popular Swimming, Fencing, Tae Kwon Do and Ninja Warrior programs. Exciting new Afternoon Challenge options include: American (Camp) Idol, Awesome Illusions & Puzzles, APP Developer, Come Fly With Me, Mindful Art, Mix Masters, Jimu AI Robotics, Picade Retro Arcade and Rock Your Planet.

Our Team

The charismatic and talented Joe Fields will return as Challenge Camp Afternoon Director. Marcy Geisser-Wolf coordinates all camp activities including instructing the CIT Program. Marc Berman and Michelle Segal facilitate the administration of camp operations to make this a memorable summer for your child.
