Challenge Camps

Dear Friends,

I am delighted to continue our association with Schechter Westchester in Hartsdale, providing a magnificent setting for the 39th summer of Challenge Camp! Summer presents an opportunity for exploration into topics about which your child may be curious. Our courses have been specially designed to meet the creative and intellectual needs of gifted and talented children, enabling them to go deeper into a current interest, try something new, or revisit themes from the past.

The Program

Challenge Camp is a unique program for bright, curious children. The Challenge Camp advantage is that you and your child customize a program of selections based on your child’s interests and the students follow their course selections for an entire session. As many of our courses are project based, you will see your child’s knowledge and interest grow throughout the session.

Our Facility

Challenge Camp is located at Schechter Westchester, a picturesque campus with art rooms, a theater, science and computer labs, and state of the art classrooms. There is large gymnasium and playing fields for sports. The facility is fully air conditioned!

Morning Curriculum

In addition to our returning favorites in the STEM and Arts disciplines, we are introducing many new morning workshops designed to stimulate the imagination of our campers. These selections include: 3D Printing Unleashed, DoodleMatic, Edison Robotics, Escape Room, Fortnite the Next Level, MOMA, Platform 9 3/4, Spy Kids, VR Explorers, Woody’s Workshop, and our theater productions “Annie” and “The Legend of Mulan”.

Afternoon Challenge

The Afternoon Challenge features our outstanding sports program including the continuation of our popular Swimming, Fencing, Tae Kwon Do, Hip Hop and Ninja Warrior programs. Exciting new Afternoon Challenge options include: 3D Puzzles & Mazes, Brickfilms, DJ Jam, Graphic Design, Iron Chef, Spa Science, Ugly Little Monsters, Ukulele Makers and more.
